Here’s the latest on what’s happening at East Bay Intergroup:
Notes from the July 20th monthly Intergroup meeting.
Attendance: Only 18 IGRs (Intergroup Reps) were present; 4 were newly elected). Make sure your meeting’s voice is heard and that your meeting is kept up-to-date on Intergroup issues. If your meeting (or one of them) does not have an IGR, be sure to elect one. See below for info on how to attend.
Board of Directors Report
As reported last month, some Board Members will be rotating out of their positions at the end of the year. The board is developing an application for joining the Board, which they will present at the next EBI meeting. See current board members.
New Website
Tim C. reported that a number of volunteers are in the process of editing the content and that a Beta version will be available to test in the next 2-3 weeks. The full, live version should be available in approximately 5-6 weeks.
Tim explained that the site gets over 8K hits a month on average, and that 5K of those are now accessed on mobile phones versus 3K on desktops/laptops. The increase in mobile phone usage is one reason why the load time has become so important, and reduced load time a major goal, along with search engine optimization, for the new site.
Tim can be reached at picpceastbay@gmail.com
Lindsay, the office administrator, reported that due to the pandemic, A.A. World Services has been out of stock of many titles. Inventory is finally starting to come back in, so check back with the bookstore if there is something you are looking for.
Inventory was taken at the end of June and there is an excess of pamphlets and Grapevines. These will be donated to H&I and a few groups. If anyone knows of a group that can use Spanish pamphlets, contact Lindsay.
Lindsay can be reached at officeadministrator@eastbayaa.org

Hotline and Chatline
Paul S., the interim Hotline Chair, reported that all shifts are currently filled, but backups are always needed. Paul has already served over 18 months as Chair and the Hotline needs someone else to step up to this position. This is a great opportunity to stay connected to other alcoholics doing service and be reminded of what it’s like to be the alcoholic who still suffers. Help keep the Hotline going—contact Paul for details at hotlinechair1963@gmail.com
Zach O-M. reported that there are two open shifts of the Chatline that need filling: Wednesday10 am – 2 pm, and Sunday 6 pm – 10 pm. If you can help out and grab one of these shifts, contact Zach at chatline@eastbayaa.org
The next East Bay Intergroup Meeting is Wednesday, August 17th at 7:00 PM.
- Meeting ID: 826 4219 5246
- Passcode: 065121
As always, groups are encouraged to elect and send an Intergroup Rep (IGR) to the monthly meetings. Individuals are welcome to attend, but only elected IGRs may vote.
How to Update Your Meeting Listing
If your meeting is changing from online to in-person (or hybrid), you may submit an update on the Meeting Update page.
If you have questions, contact the Office Administrator, Lindsay, at officeadministrator@eastbayaa.org.
