In 2013, Josh R., web developer, moved to San Jose, got sober and began looking for a convenient way to find A.A. meetings on his phone. The local Intergroup website had listings but didn’t sync well with phones so Josh began to work on a solution. He presented his idea for Meeting Guide to the National A.A. Technology Workshop (NAATW) in 2015 where he got the needed support to launch the app.
Meeting Guide is a free app supported by Seventh Step contributions which helps people quickly find meetings and resources using information provided by more than 400 A.A. service entities making it great for finding local meetings but also when traveling to new cities.
Meeting Guide syncs with area, district, intergroup/central offices and international general service office websites, relaying meeting information from A.A. service entities directly to the app. Over 100,000 weekly meetings are currently listed, and the information is refreshed twice daily.
